Life is not a straight road

My CV will tell you what I have done, but it won’t tell you who I am. There were many pivotal moments in my journey that have impacted me to make me the person I am today.

Below you’ll find just a small selection of these and what I learned from them…

Dreaming of roller-coasters

When I was growing up, I wanted to design roller-coasters. I even designed my own one aged 10 - a ‘flying’ coaster.

I didn’t pursue it as my drawing skills were (and still are!) poor and it’s one of my biggest regrets that I didn’t at least try.

There’s a part of me that wished that someone had ‘pushed’ me to work to that dream but to be honest, I probably would have resented them. It’s important to have dreams to drive to and the support network to help you along the way.

If a goal seems too out of reach, break it down into more meaningful pieces and strive for those!

What People Are Saying

When we put a call out for help on what makes great online training Toby was at the front of the queue. He brought his valuable experience and expertise which provided great insights. Those insights were of great help in allowing us to quickly adapt from our face-2-face model to online delivery; bringing best practice to the course which has been very well received getting four 5-star Trustpilot ratings on its first outing! Toby is a strong advocate for well structured and delivered online learning, facilitating effective learning outcomes with benefits that online of lower costs. He was a pleasure to talk to and learn from, so I highly recommend Toby to anyone looking at online learning.

Toby coached me on how to appear in front of a camera when I created a Cultural Communication video together with Céline van Aalst. He not only did the technical side really well (videoing and editing) but also coached us on how to perform well. He was able to teach us lots of little tips and tricks in real time to help us do well. I recommend him!

I had the privilige of being trained by Toby for the newly opened Philips TV UK project. Toby inspired us all participating in the training and helped us develope self confidence by being professional and helpful at the same time from the very first day. I have not a smidgen of doubt in my mind that without Toby’s training I would have never reached the title of leader of NPS (Net Promoter Score) in this project. Thank You Toby ;)
